The HOG side comes from F1 Genetics’ HOG #17 IBL F4 preservation. F1 Genetics carried The HOG / Hog’s Breath genetics to F4 through selected pheno hunting. T.H. Seeds identifies the HOG line with Tennessee HOG heritage, and The HOG earned first place in the Seed Company Indica Cup at the 2002 High Times Cannabis Cup.
The AJ Sour Diesel Cut carries a separate history rooted in the development of Sour Diesel during the 1990s. In AJ’s own account, he began growing the earlier Diesel plants in 1994. By 1995–1996, a random seed from those plants produced what became known as Sour Diesel. High Times also documents AJ’s connection to the line during this period and records AJ Sour Diesel among the names associated with the cultivar.
AJ has personally described the Sour as greasy, funky and skunky, providing a firsthand account of the aromatic character associated with the cut.
